Multi-award-winning singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Matthew Mole evolved without compromise, after emerging 11 years ago to become one of the biggest pop names in South Africa.

With four full-length, original albums under his belt, Matthew’s repertoire has all the gravitas of a committed artiste. A thoughtful and articulate lyricist, Matthew refuses to compromise on the value of songs carrying a strong message. He has penned words that can make one think, laugh, cry or do all three at the same time. With the use of positivity and the true desire to be as genuine as possible, Matthew writes with no bravado, no smoke, and mirrors - just completely cool, honest songs every modern-day human can relate to.

Falling in love with his vocation took hold of Matthew Mole from his very first official album release, ‘The Home We Built’ in 2013. The success of his debut hit single Take Yours, I’ll Take Mine ignited Mole’s journey across local and international shores.

Matthew continued an upward trajectory with the release of his chart-topping sophomore album ‘Run’ in 2016. ‘Run’ took Matthew to heights he hadn’t yet foreseen, and the album went on to being nominated for 3 highly acclaimed South African Music Awards for Best Pop Album, Best Produced Album and the most sought-after accolade of the awards, Record of The Year.

By 2019 Matthew Mole had dropped his most personal and indeed, brilliant album to date – ‘Ghost’. The album Ghost swiftly scooped up the South African Music Award for Best Pop Album and in 2021, Mole took home the Record of The Year Award at SAMA 27 for 'Keep It Together'.

After four years, Matthew surprised fans on the 22nd of September with the announcement of his 4th studio release. ‘Wake Up, It’s Morning’ was released on the 6th of October 2023.

In September 2024 ‘Wake Up, It’s Morning’ earned 3 South African Music Award nominations for Best Pop Album, Best Engineered Album and Best Produced Album.
